本课的教学对象是三年级的小学生，经过半年的英语学习，他们已经掌握了一些简单的问候语和对话，能听懂一些课堂用语。他们好奇心强，活泼好动，善于模仿，乐于表演，对英语学习有新鲜感和浓厚的兴趣。如何继续在英语学习起始阶段保持对英语学习的兴趣并扩大学习内容，需要老师细致的引导以及生动有趣的教学来实现。

知识技能方面：学生已初步养成了用英语问候，用英语合作交流完成任务的学习习惯和相应的学习策略，具备了初步用英语进行交际的能力。

Step 1 Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.
2. Show the PPT，the teacher says：Welcome to the zoo.  Look at it carefully and tell us, what animals can you see? What are they?The teacher shows the pictures of the giraffe and the monkey, and leads the students to

describ the animals with the handled adjectives：fat,thin，tall,short.

3. Reviews Part B Let’s talk.

Purpose: The purpose of this step is to form a better English learning surrounding for the students, and, at the same time, it provides situations to review  the learned knowledge for the next step.

Step 2 Presentation:

Learn new words.

1. Present the pictures of two rulers,（a long ruler and a short ruler），The teacher says:“Look! The ruler is short. The ruler is long.”The teacher places great emphasis on the words“short” and“long”.                      
2. Present the pictures of two monkeys,（a big monkey and a small monkey）, T: Look! The monkey is small. The monkey is big. The teacher places great emphasis on the words“big”and“small”. Pay attention to the pronunciation of / l / in the word “small”and prompt students to roll up  the tongue tip.
3. Play the audiotape as the students listen to the words and follow it.

Learn new sentence

1. Show some animals dolls, and introduces:“Hello, boys and girls. I have many animals. I have a panda. I have a monkey… Look at the panda. It has two big eyes. It has short legs…”(Emphasize the word “has”, and help students get the meaning of the sentence “It has...”).
2. Explain the words “have” and “has”:

(1)has is used behind the personal pronoun“she, he,it”.

(2)Have is used behind the personal  pronoun “I, they”.

3.Present the teaching pictures of Let’s learn, and learn the sentences “It has a small head!” “And a short tail. ” And thenthe students read them.

3. Play the audiotape again as the students listen to the words and sentences and follow it.

Purpose: The purpose of this step is to present the new words and sentences in the situation.

Step 3 Practice

1. Game: The teacher present the words learned today with body language. After observation, who speak out the words quickly and accurately.
2. Let’s do.

1. The teacher plays the audiotape while the students listen and act.
2. The teacher plays the audiotape again, and encourage the students to act out the orders.

Purpose: The purpose is to help Ss to consolidate the words that learned in the class.

Step 4  Summary

Summarize the usage of It has a/an and It has two...

T:Today we used the sentence“It has a …” “It has …and … ” to talk about animals. We can spell and write the four new words:small,big,long,short.

Purpose: The purpose of this step is to exercise the expression ability of students.

评价

This lesson I teached two pairs of adjectives describing length and size.I combined the image with the gesture,to help students learn words in a relatively real situation. The part of chant aroused the enthusiasm of the students to learn. In class,the students were very active, and the classroom atmosphere is harmonious.
